Our bodies’ wisdom came first

Our body knows how to move with ease and grace.

It remembers how to live free from pain and limitation. The most effective way of addressing body imbalances, aches and pains is reminding the body where it came from and supporting its own wisdom in finding its way back.

This is not an esoteric journey but an invitation to “return home” to that place of comfort and ease that can be seen in a young child as they race, run, flop and fold in ways that may seem impossible to us now.

While we may not fully turn back our body’s clocks, we can show it the way past limitations we have accepted as our “new normal” by allowing it to glimpse a memory of living without those limits.

Guiding the body back to itself requires carefully working within all its layers — from the skin’s surface to deep places where the muscles and fascia hold us together, unravelling all the injuries and insults life’s adventures may have led us to.

It is sometimes not enough to smooth away the aches; unearthing the root of the issue allows it to resolve. Part warm nurturing, part dynamic unravelling — at times relaxing, at times challenging but at all times arriving “on time” with appropriate approaches for the day, the moment. Listening for the opportunity to give the body what it most needs.
